So I’ve begun to feel like I needed warmer colors and a heartier feeling in my home. I switched out the white metal kitchen chairs to teak and black leather, found a few brass and copper items from the recycling center and added a lot of candles. Yesterday I had some free time and went for a walk in Kallio, the promised ‘hood of all the hipsters and artsy types… and found these on the curb!!
I’ve been thinking about a leather pouf for ages, but the real Moroccan poufs are expensive, so I’ve been putting it off. This Finnish version, on the other hand, was free! Also, the carpet will add nice, spicy colors into my home. What a lucky day! 🙂

On sitten alkanut tuntua, että tarviin lämpimämpiä värejä ja jotenkin kotoisemman tunnelman kotiini. Vaihdoin keittiön valkoiset metallituolit tiikkiin ja mustaan nahkaan, löysin kierrätyskeskuksesta kupari- ja messinkiesineitä ja virittelin kynttilöitä ympäriinsä. Eilen oli luppoaikaa ja kävelin Kallioon, tuohon hipsterien ja taiteilijoiden luvattuun kaupunginosaan… ja löysin nämä roskiksesta!
Olen fiilistellyt nahkaista rahia vaikka kuinka kauan, mutta ne fiinit marokkolaiset tuppaavat maksamaan maltaita, joten olen viivytellyt oston kanssa. Tämä suomalainen puolestaan oli ilmainen! Mattokin lisää hienosti justiin lämpimiä maustevärejä. Olipas onnekas sattuma! 🙂
