Oh my, but I do love this table runner! It feels very silky, but it has no label and I’m not sure of the material. The colors and composition feel like the 40s to me, but honestly I have no idea of that either. But the best thing about it? It doubles as a scarf! 🙂

Everything on the table is thrifted, apart from the postcard which I bought from EMMA and the card holders which I found in a dumpster of a restaurant during an interior remodel.

Hupsis vaan, ihastuin kaitaliinaan! 🙂

Kaikki pöydällä on kirppareilta, paitsi postikortti jonka ostin EMMAsta ja kortinpidikkeet, jotka löysin remontoitavan ravintolan roskalavalta.

Incredibly hard to photo, but the flask has an etching for “100 cc 15°C” and a volumatic line on the neck for the 100 cubic centimeters. So tiny and cute, but I wonder why the 15°C?

*

Uskomattoman vaikeaa kuvata toi kaiverrus, mutta pullossa siis lukee “100 cc 15°C”. Kaulassa on raja tuolle 100:lle millilitralle, mutta en ymmärrä miksi pulloon on kaiverrettu lämpötilalukema. Söötti on jokatapauksessa!

The recycling center had nice stuff this time: Siri Hustvedt’s What I Loved and a Finnish author Laura Honkasalo’s novel Tyttökerho. The vase was an impulse buy, but I ended up liking it a lot. The grater will get a tea light inside and look super cute…

Raastimet taas on kivoja tuikkulyhtyjä…

Yeah, brass is in! 200 gram weight and a swan figurine…

Kyllä tää messinki nyt on alkanut aika paljon kiinnostaa! 200 gramman punnus ja kiuru-silmäinen joutsen…

The pale pink linen towel was the cherry on top of a very good thrifting trip! I wonder what’s happened to me, I didn’t use to like granny stuff and pale pink! 🙂

Sokerina pohjalla vielä pellavainen astiapyyhe, jonka nappasin mukaani Lönkan Fidasta. Mitähän mulle on tapahtunut, kun mummojuttujen lisäksi vaaleanpunainenkin sopii silmiin?! 🙂

Spring Surprises in the Yard!

My yard is all new to me, since I got this place last august. Is that a cherry? Whatever it may be, the pretty, pretty flowers came one day a bit more than a week ago, and then a couple days ago they just vanished! They were there one day and the next morning, they weren’t. What happened?! 🙂

What a happy occurrence: I got a couple Hydrangeas just after I bought the place, and they were just outside in their pots for the whole winter. No cover, no insulation, nothing. I never thought they made it, but come spring there was a few tiny buds. I decided to prune them, some wikipedia article I checked suggested to prune them in the spring – and they started budding a lot more! Who would have thought they made it through the Finnish winter?! 😀

And the last happy surprise was the tulips – I never knew my terrace had tulips! How utterly awesome!! 😀

I can’t wait for all the rest of the surprises as the summer advances… What is it going to look like here in a couple of weeks? It’s like getting new presents all the time! 🙂
